It is comics galore all over the world this year. There are cartoons on either real life being depicted in animations, or imaginations running wild with comic book characters. Among the more popular comics are the comic books of different genres. The editors at Amazon have come up with the ten most popular comic books for the year 2010. These include comic books as well as graphic novels. The highest numbers of top ranks are taken by two publishers, with Drawn and Quarterly taking first position and DC following next. At the top of the list is ‘The Art of Jaime Hernandez: The Secrets of Life and Death’ published by the Abrams Comics Arts. The most favourite comics of customers are mostly associated with other forms of media like the TV and Cinema. Almost all the comics are either adapted into movies or adapted as recent TV shows. Alternately, other popular preferences are comics that have been adapted from TV shows like Buffy the vampire slayer and novels like Twilight.
Another popular form of comics is the real life adaptations during elections. Whether a politician is going to end his term at the office or another is taking up a term in politics, there are cartoons depicting all of them. The political cartoonists have no dearth of inspirations to draw from. The daily cartoonist has a good collection of political cartoons, whereas the Comics journal touches upon the election results.
