Have you just moved to Michigan and are looking for something to keep yourself occupied with? Well, in that case you can indulge in some carp fishing. Michigan boasts of several anglers who love carp fishing and the presence of several carp syndicates bear testimony to the fact. Carp is one of the most common fishes found in the waters of Michigan and you will have to follow a few regulations if you want to catch carps. If you are above 17 years you will need a fishing license to fish for carp legally. And if you are below 17, there are a few guidelines you need to follow while fishing for carp.

In Michigan you can fish for carp all around the year and many types of carps are found here. However the most common ones are German carp, silver carp and the green carp. Some of the places in Michigan that are popular for local carp fishing are Belleville Lake and Lake Erie Park.  Lake Erie has massive quantities of carp while the Belleville Lake is well known for throwing up carps weighing between 6 lbs and 30 lbs, huge carps can be found in the Ford Lake as well. Muskegon River is also a great option for carp fishing.
